Celebrating a Vibrant Aged Care Community at Strathpine

September at Strathpine Aged Care was a celebration of togetherness, creativity and connection, highlighting the warmth and spirit of our vibrant aged care community. Residents enjoyed a packed calendar of events that sparked joy and built stronger bonds.

We began the month with Craft Corner, where creativity flowed and friendships flourished. Father’s Day was a special celebration shared with our local MP Nikki Boyd, who kindly donated a raffle prize, and each gentleman received a heartfelt gift. The week also included visits from the RSL Old Brass Band, singalongs during Happy Hour, and delicious outings like our Thursday Bus Trips to Strathpine Central and North Pine Dam, topped off with soft serve ice cream.

There was no shortage of colour and culture, with beautiful flower donations from Nourish Street, and a joyful celebration of Diwali – Festival of Lights, which brought colour, traditional attire, and heartfelt reflection into our home.

Our residents continued to engage in meaningful, fun activities such as sensory cooking, button craft, Drum Fit sessions, and our popular Bingo and buffet breakfasts. The Garden Group spent sunny mornings planting marigolds and snapdragons, while others enjoyed pet therapy, bocce and word games.

We also bid a warm farewell to Mary Rutene after 11 years of dedicated service, celebrating her legacy with lunch at Pine Rivers Bowls Club. A heartfelt thank you also went to Milton and Antonio for crafting a wonderful post box now displayed proudly at our front desk.

From hymn singing with the Clayfield Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement to birthday celebrations and morning teas in honour of cherished residents, September truly reflected what makes our vibrant aged care community special — joy, connection, and belonging.
