Strathpine Aged Care Christmas celebrations filled December with joy, featuring our Resident Christmas Lunch, entertainment, festive activities and community connection.
With the arrival of December, our community at Strathpine Aged Care embraced the festive season with open arms. Christmas trees went up, decorations brightened our halls, and the spirit of celebration filled every corner of our home.
This December has been particularly special, with residents enjoying a wonderful variety of activities that kept spirits high and connections strong. From Sensory Play sessions that engaged the senses to the comfort of Pet Therapy, each day brought new opportunities for joy and engagement. Our Garden Group continued to flourish, with residents tending to our outdoor spaces even as we prepared for summer.
The highlight of our Strathpine Aged Care Christmas celebrations was undoubtedly our Resident Christmas Lunch – a day that perfectly captured the warmth and togetherness that defines our community. Jayde, a beloved entertainer and crowd favourite, filled the room with music and laughter, creating an atmosphere of genuine celebration. The festive mood was enhanced by a raffle draw and lucky door prizes that had everyone eagerly anticipating their chance to win.
The Christmas buffet lunch itself was a feast to remember, complete with all the traditional bells and trimmings that make this season so special. Watching our residents enjoy this meal together, sharing stories and smiles, reminded us why these moments matter so deeply.
We're grateful to everyone who contributed to making this day possible. The raffles were particularly popular, with some wonderful prizes going to lucky winners. Nicola Saad took home the Baby Q Weber, whilst Ken Wakefield won the $150 Pine Rivers Bowls voucher. Our resident Bernina and her husband Ray were delighted to receive the Christmas hamper, generously donated by Nikki Boyd – a thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciate.
These Strathpine Aged Care Christmas celebrations reflect the heart of our community: genuine connection, shared joy, and the knowledge that we're all part of something meaningful. As we move through this festive season, we carry forward the warmth of these moments and the bonds they strengthen.
