From paw-sitive therapy dog visits to heartfelt fundraising and cultural festivities, June 2025 at Strathpine Aged Care was filled with warmth, joy, and connection.
The month of June 2025 was nothing short of vibrant here at Strathpine Aged Care, with our residents, staff, and volunteers embracing every opportunity to connect, celebrate and create memories.
We kicked off with a visit from Rosie, our beloved therapy dog, whose wagging tail brought smiles all around. The Helping Hands volunteers crafted beautiful care packages for Nourish Street Inc., spreading kindness beyond our home.
Monday Happy Hours kept spirits high, while the Knit and Natter group enjoyed lively chats and creative crafting. Before the winter rain arrived, we took a lovely boardwalk stroll, followed by a fun Friday outing complete with ice cream and scenic views.
A special highlight was celebrating Facility Manager Karen Conroy’s birthday, marked with a heartfelt party. Musical joy came courtesy of U3A Pine Rivers’ ‘Sophisticated Folk’, filling the halls with toe-tapping tunes.Residents also loved a charming visit to Old Petrie Town, full of nostalgia and exploration.
Artistic talents shone brightly at our Resident Art Showcase, and we set sail on our “Spirit of Strathpine” virtual cruise; starting with a vibrant Italian theme. The month also saw colourful Filipino cultural celebrations, bringing tradition and flavour to our community.
We began planting our edible garden, a new source of joy and fresh herbs, and proudly raised over $1,000 for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea,showing the incredible power of our community spirit.
June reminded us all that at Strathpine Aged Care, every day is a chance to celebrate life, connection, and each other.
