Strathpine Aged Care Summer Newsletter – Summer 2025-2026

The Strathpine Aged Care Summer Newsletter is here, and it captures a season that had something meaningful in it for everyone - from festive celebrations to fresh faces, live harp music to handmade sausage rolls.

The summer edition of The Strathpine Snapshot covers December 2025 through February 2026, and it is one of our most varied yet. Facility Manager Karen shares how the home has been growing and evolving, welcoming a new Lifestyle Coordinator in Tony, whose background in diversional therapy, gerontology, and music therapy has already brought new energy to our activity programmes. New uniforms, a refreshed logo, and continued investment in the dining experience all reflect a home that is moving forward with purpose.

December was defined by Christmas spirit - trees going up, Jayde entertaining at our Resident Christmas Lunch, raffle wins for Nicola, Ken, and Bernina and Ray, and a buffet spread that had everyone going back for seconds. January brought something a little unexpected: live harp music performed right here in our home - an experience that stayed with us long after the last note faded. February welcomed Tony to the team, with Happy Hour, Waitangi Day crafts, bingo, and pet therapy visits rounding out a summer that moved gently and warmly from one month to the next.

Inside this edition you will also find a message from Clinical Care Coordinator Trudy on the team's focus heading into Autumn, Employee of the Month recognition for Will, Tori, and Babu, a Chef's Corner from Wayne including a sausage roll recipe and a warm introduction to resident Barbara - who grew up on a farm in northern Newcastle and whose fondest memories involve pigs, horses, and her grandmother.
