Strathpine Aged Care Community Update: Welcoming Tony and Celebrating February Together
The past two weeks have been full of connection, conversation, and shared moments across the Strathpine community.
We were pleased to welcome Tony, our new Lifestyle Coordinator, who has already begun getting to know residents and bringing fresh energy to the activities calendar. Time spent together is what shapes daily life here, and it’s been great to see Tony settling in and chatting with residents around the home.
Residents also gathered for Happy Hour with Darrell, a relaxed afternoon filled with good company and easy conversation. These regular get-togethers are a simple way for people to connect, catch up, and enjoy time together.
On Waitangi Day, residents took part in craft activities, spending the afternoon creating and sharing stories while they worked. Activities like this offer space for creativity and conversation, and it was wonderful to see residents enjoying the process together.
There was also plenty of friendly competition during Bingo, which continues to be a favourite on the calendar. Laughter travelled across the room as numbers were called and residents cheered each other on.
Another highlight was Pet Therapy, which residents always look forward to. The visits bring a calm and comforting presence, and it’s clear how much these moments are appreciated.
During the week, residents also spent time with a friendly visitor, sharing stories and conversation. Visits like these add something special to the rhythm of the week and remind us how important connection is.
We also gathered to celebrate February birthdays for both residents and staff. Birthdays are a chance to pause, acknowledge one another, and enjoy a moment together as a community.

Across the past two weeks, the Strathpine aged care community update reflects what matters most here: people spending time together, sharing experiences, and building a sense of belonging day by day.
