May 2026: bus trips, Mother’s Day, and Italian Day at Strathpine Aged Care
May 2026 was a month full of colour, good food, fresh air, and community warmth at Strathpine Aged Care, and we made the most of every moment.
Mother’s Day was a beautiful occasion. Our residents were treated to a celebration full of flowers, laughter, and the kind of togetherness that makes this community so special. It was a day to honour the wonderful women among us, and to take a moment to appreciate all that they bring to life at Strathpine.
Italian Day was another highlight of the month and a real favourite with our residents. The tables were dressed, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was everything you would hope for from a celebration of Italian culture. There is something wonderful about the way a shared meal and a festive theme can bring a whole room to life, and Italian Day did exactly that.
We also headed out on bus trips during the month, getting off the grounds and enjoying a change of scenery together. There is always something special about an outing, the anticipation on the bus, the conversation on the way, and the stories shared on the way home.
Back at the home, our outdoor space was buzzing with activity. Residents gathered on the green for games that had everyone engaged, moving, and laughing together. Whether throwing, rolling, or simply cheering on a friend, the joy of playing together outdoors in the autumn sunshine was plain to see.
May at Strathpine Aged Care was a reminder of how much life and warmth this community holds. We are grateful for every moment of it.
